Jalsatyagrah is a flagship programme of Bhavsar Foundation (Formerly Bhaskar Foundation) which was supported by Dainik Bhaskar Group for Water Conservation. The name derives its inspiration from Satyagrah movement of Mahatma Gandhi. Keeping in view the alarming situation of water scarcity in India, Bhavsar Foundation feels that mass involvement is necessary to find solution to this problem. Every person should contribute towards conservation of water. Activity being carried out by the Group under Jalsatyagrah programme.
Jalsatyagrah campaign has been carried out many cities on regular intervals. The campaign includes activities like road shows, public meetings, awareness & educational programes in schools and residential areas. Mobile exhibition demonstrating a working model of roof water harvesting is also organized in various cities. Special campaigns like “Tilak Holi” is carried out during Holi festival to motivate people for celebrating dry Holi.
Bhavsar Foundation (Formerly Bhaskar Foundation) has restored many village ponds in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Di-silting has been carried out villages like Badadhara, Tundri in Janjghir District, Dharmjaigarh in Raigarh District of Chhattisgarh and Niwas & Papal villages in Singrauli District of Madhya Pradesh.
