Jal Satyagrah

Jalsatyagrah is a flagship programme of Bhaskar Foundation & Dainik Bhaskar Group for Water Conservation. The name derives its inspiration from Satyagrah movement of Mahatma Gandhi. Keeping in view the alarming situation of water scarcity in India, Bhaskar Group feels that mass involvement is necessary to find solution to this problem. Every person should contribute towards conservation of water. Activity being carried out by the Group under Jalsatyagrah programme.

Jalsatyagrah campaign is carried out by Bhaskar Group in many cities on regular intervals. The campaign includes activities like road shows, public meetings, awareness & educational programes in schools and residential areas. Mobile exhibition demonstrating a working model of roof water harvesting is also organized in various cities. Special campaigns like “Tilak Holi” is carried out during Holi festival to motivate people for celebrating dry Holi.

Bhaskar Foundation has restored many village ponds in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Di-silting has been carried out villages like Badadhara, Tundri in Janjghir District, Dharmjaigarh in Raigarh District of Chhattisgarh and Niwas & Papal villages in Singrauli District of Madhya Pradesh.

SEHYOG – Donate in Kind for a Kind Cause

Bhaskar Foundation through SEHYOG initiative supports low-income people in urban and semi-urban areas. Old items of personal and domestic use from people of higher economic strata are collected and then given at a reasonable price to the low-income group people. The cash collected through this programme is given to a school for creating some facilities for children.

Sehyog – “Vastu Daan – Nek Kaam, Ek Abhiyaan”, an initiative of Foundation was undertaken in Indore and Bhopal in Year 2009.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBM) – Chhattisgarh

 Swachh Bharat Abhiyan – Inspiration from Swachh Bharat Mission of Government of India. Keeping in view of aim of the Mission a small effort was put by the Bhaskar Foundation team with the under-training candidates of DDU-GKY scheme of Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India which is also implemented by Bhaskar Foundation at Dharsiwa district of Chhattisgarh.
