National Conference on Water – Bhopal

Bhaskar Foundation organized “Jalsatyagrah – National Conference on Water” from June 25 – 26, 2010, at Noor Us Sabah Palace, Bhopal. The conference was inaugurated by Sh. Pawan Bansal, Hon’ble Minister for Parliamentary Affairs & Water Resources, Govt. of India. The Guests of Honour were Sh. Gopal Bhargawa, Hon’ble Minister for Social Justice, Panchayat & Rural Development and Sh. Jayant Malaiya, Hon’ble Minister for Water Resources, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh.
Hindi Diwas (September 14, 2010)
On the occasion of Hindi Diwas on September 14, 2010 Bhaskar Foundation and Dainik Bhaskar Group organized a seminar in Delhi at Triveni Kala Sangam. The theme of seminar was “Increasing Influence of English and Role of Hindi Print Media”.
Smt. Ambika Soni, Hon’ble Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India attended as the Chief Guest. Other Guest Speakers were:

National Conference on Bamboo
(July 12-13, 2011)
A two days “National Conference on Cluster Development of Bamboo Products- A Way to Inclusive Growth” was held on July 12-13, 2011 in Hotel Golden Tulip, Raipur. The conference was attended by Dignitaries, Policy Makers, Artisans, Forest Officials, R & D Institutions, Development Agencies, Banks & Financing Institutions, Bamboo Growers, Machinery Manufacturers and Entrepreneurs. The dignitaries who participated in the conference were Shri Jitendra Choudhary, Minister of Forest, Rural Development, Industries & Commerce, Govt. of Tripura, Shri Vikram Usendi, Minister of Forest & Environment, Govt. of Chhattisgarh, Shri Narayan Singh, ACS, Govt. of Chhattisgarh, Shri Dhirendra Sharma, PCCF, Govt. of Chhattisgarh, Shri Kameshwar Ojha, DDG, National Bamboo Mission, Govt. of India among others who made the presentations are Shri Diwakar Mishra, CCF & Mission Director, Govt. of Chhattisgarh, Shri Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, Shri M.M. Jalan, CMD, APIL, Prof. A.G. Rao, IIT Mumbai and experts from Jindal Steel & Power, Essar, NABARD, SFRI, TRIFED, NMBA, INBAR and Forest Deptt., Govt. of Chhattisgarh made the presentations on various topics related with bamboo cultivation, capacity building, policy issues, repositioning of bamboo crafts, domestic and international business opportunities.
Officials from corporate like Jindal Steel & Power and Essar expressed their willingness to work in collaboration with Department of Forest, Govt. of Chhattisgarh and Bhaskar Foundation for capacity building and training of bamboo artisans.
More than 300 delegates from Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Assam, Tripura, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh attended the conference. Exhibitions of bamboo products made by artisans was organised alongwith the conference wherein bamboo products like furniture, wall hangings, bamboo jwellary, decorative items and other varieties of utility and decorative items were displayed.

Bhaskar Foundation organized 2nd Edition of “National Conference on Water” -Clean and Adequate Water to People on October 12, 2012 at Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj & Gramin Vikas Sansthan, Jaipur. The conference was inaugurated by Sh. Hema Ram Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of Revenue, Colonisation and Water Resources, Govt. of Rajasthan. The Guests of Honour were Prof. Vijay Shankar Vyas, Member, Prime Minister’s Economy Advisory Council & Professor Emeritus, Institute of Development Studies, Jaipur, Sh. T.M. Vijay Bhaskar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Drinking Water, Govt. of India and Dr. Purshottam Agarwal, Principal Secretary, PHED and Ground Water Dept., Govt. of Rajasthan

On the occasion of Hindi Diwas on September 14, 2014, Bhaskar Foundation and Aha Zindgai (Dainik Bhaskar Group) organized a seminar in Delhi at Triveni Kala Sangam with the warm presence Prof. Krishn Kumar, Educationist & Former Director NCERT with Sh. Alok Shirvastava, Prof. Manindra Thakur, Sh. Uday Prakash, Smt. Maitreyi Pushpa and Sh. Jagdish Upasane.
The Seminar was attended by more than 200 invitees.
