About CSR Activities

Bhavsar Foundation (Formerly Bhaskar Foundation) has carried out many rural development (CSR Activities) in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh on behalf of DB Power and the works include infrastructure development, education, healthcare, water, sanitation, skill development, social awareness etc.

Bihar Flood Rehabilitation Project

Bhavsar Foundation adopted village Bella, Bihar after devastating flood in 2008. Various Livelihood generation programmes were initiated in the affected areas. Partnered with different Stakeholders (NMBA, JTM) for Sustainable livelihood generation of flood affected victims. Foundation with the support of National Mission of Bamboo Application (NMBA) carried out a skill development programme for flood victims in Araria. Training was provided to beneficiaries on Bamboo Agarbati Stick Making. Hand tools were also distributed among them and linkages for marketing their

produce was also established. Hundreds of women benefited from this training and they started producing bamboo agarbati sticks which were sold to Agarbati manufacturers in Gaya.

Carpeting of Roads with Red Sand, Repair of Hand Pumps and Restoration of Ponds

Many streets with a total length of about 10 Kms have been carpeted with red sand and repair work of many hand pumps was carried out. Many ponds were also restored by cleaning & desilting.

 Development and restoration of Rajendra Giri Park, Panchmari, Madhya Pradesh

Bhavsar Foundation partnered with Madhya Pradesh Government in restoration and beautification of Rejendra Giri Park in Pachmari, Madhya Pradesh. The park is named after first President of India Hon’ble Dr Rajendra Prasad. The works carried out by Bhaskar Foundation include fixing of paver blocks & curb stones for walkways, entry gates, renovation of water bodies, plantation of trees, etc. The total cost incurred on these works was Rs. 15 lakhs out of which Foundation contributed Rs. 8.28 Lakhs. The work started in May 2012 and was completed in July 2012.

Education

Students have been supported through various initiatives including distribution of School bags, shoes, stationeries items etc. Scholarships have also been provided to deserving students. Infrastructure and facilities in many rural schools in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh has been upgraded by way of construction of additional rooms/boundary walls, toilet facilities, furniture, sports equipment etc.    Foundation has setup a Nursery Teacher Training Institute in collaboration with S.Sen NTT institute at Bhopal.

Environment

Various initiatives for environment protection are carried out including plantation, awareness campaigns, school competition etc.

 Healthcare

Healthcare camps have been organised in many villages of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Ambulance has also been provided in these villages for emergencies. Health awareness camps have also been organised. More than 20,000 people benefited from this initiative.

Livelihood Development and Income Generation Programme

More than 5,000 women have been trained on skills having scope for self-employment & income generation. The training programmes have been conducted primarily for Women Self Help Groups in states including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Bihar. The Skills include tailoring, bamboo products, food processing, jute products etc. Hundreds of SHGs were formed and trained.

Nari Semri Water Project

Nari Semri Village near Mathura, Uttar Pradesh has acute problem of saline ground water. A sweet water source about 3 kms from the village was identified and boring was dug for drawing water and a pump set has be installed and a 3 km pipeline laid upto the village to the central water storage tank in the temple. Villagers are being motivated to connect their household with the central water storage facility for their individual use.

Upgradation of ITIs

DB Group had adopted Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) under the scheme of Upgradation of 1396 ITIs under PPP mode in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. The ITIs are-

  • ITI, Sultanpur (Kota, Rajasthan)
  • Women ITI, Ajmer (Rajasthan)
  • Women ITI, Bhilwara (Rajasthan)
  • ITI, Dabara (Chhattisgarh)
  • ITI, Dharamjaigarh (Chhattisgarh)
  • Women ITI, Raigarh (Chhattisgarh)
  • ITI, Kukshi (District Dhar, Madhya Pradesh)
  • ITI, Sailana (District Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh)

These ITIs were upgraded by Bhavsar Foundation including works like infrastructure development, procurement of furniture, machinery and lab equipment, conducting guest lectures & personality development programmes and providing placement support.

Rural Development

 Bhaskar Foundation has carried out lots of Rural Development activities in terms of improving village infrastructure. The works include laying of roads, digging of tube wells, restoration of ponds, installation of street lights, drinking water supply etc.
